not too shabby

the highlight of my day was when i received a picture from a faceless guy i had been chatting with for the last couple months. his online dating profile pic was a painting...a self-portrait. when he suggested that we meet up, i said the least he could do was send a picture so i wouldn't have to wander through the restaurant looking for a painting. surprisingly, he was kinda cute. shocker. i was prepared for the worst.

Glass of red wine

The best thing that happened to me today was enjoying a glass of red wine. Red Zin, my favorite. Takes the stress away from the day and from live. #wino4life

Feeling grateful

The best thing that happened to me today was going to SOHO (Space of Her Own.org). To know what each of those 11-12 yr old girls are exposed to makes me so thankful for what I have and how I grew up. I had a wonderful supportive and loving family. The things I heard tonight were shocking and unfathomable. I'm glad that these girls have SOHO and I am too.  I am also grateful to be apart of such an awesome program. To be a mentor is the greatest gift.

Seeing a smile shine

The best thing that happened to me today was seeing the best in someone. As part of a team of mentors for 6th grade girls sometimes it's hard to see the light through the craziness. Tonight I saw one little girl shine and it was the best thing that happened to me all day.

Graduation Regalia

Standing in front of the mirror looking at my accomplishments staring at me in the face was a bit surreal. It was and will be by far the best thing to happen to me today. It is the symbol of my dedication and unwavering desire to accomplish a goal set 4 years ago this month. The accomplishment is even greater when thinking about where I have come from and where I have been. Next Saturday will not be possible if it were not for the same level of dedication from my family and friends. Thank You all for your commitment to my success.

It Snowed

The best thing that happened to me today was that it snowed for the first time this season. Love the snow. It's so peaceful not to mention a great distraction from work. I'm thankful for the windows in my office.

Giving

The best thing that happened to me today was giving a gift to someone in need. I very slyly gave a warm coat, gloves and hat to a little girl in need. The look on her face was priceless. When she tried it on she raved about how warm it was. I'm on such a high right now I don't want to come down. Its true it's better to give than to received.

Yesterday is history.  Tomorrow is a mystery.  And today?  Today is a gift.  That's why we call it the present.

Spending Time With Mom

The best thing that happened to me today was spending some time with my Mom. It happens more rarely than I'd like to admit. Makes me feel good to remember to actually tell her that I love her and not just assume she knows.

Winning a prize

The best thing that happened to me today was finding out that I actually won a drawing that I entered last night. Randomly I entered a contest at the National Gaylord's spa and won a free massage! What's even more amazing is that I'm the girl who usually never wins anything so this was super special. Can't wait to enjoy a relaxing time at the spa. I'm one lucky gal.

Completing My To-Do List

The best thing that happened to me today was completing my to-do list. All those things that I had been putting off, I finally made a list. And today, I completed them all. A rarity and an awesome feeling.
