Making breakfast for dinner

Sometimes it just hits the spot. Eggs, bacon, toast. Yum. Made my day.

Getting your hands dirty

The best thing that happened to me today was finishing weeding in my parents garden. It looks fabulous and it always feels good to get your hands dirty.

Kicking butt at work

The best thing that happened today was kicking butt at my job. Even though I didn't leave until 7:30pm it was a great sense of accomplishment to have all deliverables in my client's hands. Now the waiting game begins. They asked for 100 things by today but can she review and approve them within the deadline? We shall see. I think not.

Target adventure

We live very close to a Super Target, and when we feel like we have a bit of cabin fever, we go to Target to let my 17 mo old son wander around. So, today, we had another Target adventure. The best part was him finding a huge bouncy ball that came up to his hips, wrapping his arms around it, throwing it, and then chasing it down the aisle. Toddlers know how to thoroughly enjoy the simple things in life.

Listening to the story of my parents love

The best thing that happened to me today was hearing my parents talk about how they met, dated and married. We celebrated their 30th anniversary this weekend. Cheers to them!

Feeling of accomplishment

After a really hard and long week at work, the best thing that happened to me today was sending that last client deliverable email. Hitting the send button and walking away from my office was the best thing. Working for the weekend. TGIF!!

Work Trap

making a toddler smile

My sister is watching her friend's little girl tonight. She'd been having a rough day, only wanting her Mom, and when she got here, she almost immediately began crying. I was able to help calm her down and eventually bring a smile to her precious little face. Sometimes it's the simple things in life, like a smile on a toddler's face.

not too shabby

the highlight of my day was when i received a picture from a faceless guy i had been chatting with for the last couple months. his online dating profile pic was a painting...a self-portrait. when he suggested that we meet up, i said the least he could do was send a picture so i wouldn't have to wander through the restaurant looking for a painting. surprisingly, he was kinda cute. shocker. i was prepared for the worst.

Glass of red wine

The best thing that happened to me today was enjoying a glass of red wine. Red Zin, my favorite. Takes the stress away from the day and from live. #wino4life
